These exquisite pieces of teaware are by Tsun Jen Tuong Art Pottery in Taiwan. This pottery studio was founded more than 30 years ago by a husband and wife team Mr. and Mrs. Tsun-Jen Lee, both renowned artists who studied the art of pottery making and glazing in Taiwan and China. Their works have been featured in magazines and selected as part of permanent collection by art museums through out the world.
The new element that Mr. Lee has brought into the classic art of pottery is blending in materials from other fields, such as glass and lacquer. These seemingly incompatible medium are combined to create an elegant and contemporary look for classic teaware standards, such as the gai-wan.
